Ovaj neobičan sisar vitkog tela i spretnih šapa, kreće se po drveću prašuma uz pomoć svog dugog, čvrstog repa s kojim se hvata za grane. Krzno mu varira od smeđe do žute boje. Hrani se insektima, voćem, a najviše voli med i nektar, koje dohvata svojim dugim i tankim jezikom. Zovu ga i “medeni medo”.

KIVI – Australija
Kivi je mala ptica zakržljalih krila i smeđeg okruglog tela s neobično dugim (oko 15 centimetara) kljunom. Ime je dobila po svom nezaboravnom piskutavom glasu kojim kao da viče: “Kivi”. Danas postoje tri vrste kivija, a sve su zakonom zaštićene. Simbol je Australije.

OKAPI – Afrika
Nije zebra, a nije ni žirafa – to je okapi! Ova neobična životinja koja potiče iz porodice žirafa ima crvenkastosmeđe krzno i bele pruge po nogama i stražnjici, nalik zebrinim. Okapi su uglavnom noćne životinje, a žive u mračnim šumama i jedu lišće. Bili su nam nepoznati sve do početka 20. veka.

PANGOLIN – Afrika i Azija
Ovaj neobični riboliki sisar nema zube, ali zahvaljujući lepljivom jeziku koji može istegnuti do 60 centimetara dužine, uspešno hvata paukove. Kad je uplašen, sklupča se i nakostreši i ispušta smrdljivu tečnost.

TARSIER – Jugoistočna Azija – Filipini, Sumatra, Borneo
Ovog najmanjeg primata na planeti prepoznaćete po ogromnim, okruglim očima, ali je mala šansa da ga sretnete (ako se nađete u jugoistočnoj Aziji naravno) po danu, jer je to noćna životinja. Može gledati u mraku, a zanimljivo je da glavu bez problema okreće skoro ceo krug.
